• Kesimpta (generic name: ofatumumab) is a fully human monoclonal antibody that targets the CD20 protein found on the surface of B cells. By binding to CD20, Kesimpta reduces the number of B cells, which are believed to be involved in the abnormal immune response that damages nerve cells in multiple sclerosis (MS). It is specifically approved for the treatment of adults with relapsing forms of MS, including clinically isolated syndrome, relapsing-remitting disease, and active secondary progressive disease.

  Kesimpta is administered as a once-monthly injection under the skin (subcutaneous). It offers a convenient at-home treatment option compared to some intravenous therapies for MS. Clinical trials have shown that Kesimpta significantly reduces relapses, slows the progression of disability, and lowers the number of brain lesions detected on MRI.
