Evenity

  • Brands Evenity
  • Product Code: Evenity
  • Evenity (romosozumab-aqqg) is a monoclonal antibody indicated for the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women who are at high risk for fracture, including those with a history of osteoporotic fractures, multiple fracture risk factors, or those who have failed or are intolerant to other osteoporosis therapies.

Unlike many osteoporosis medications that only slow bone loss, Evenity has a dual mechanism of action. It blocks the activity of sclerostin, a protein that inhibits bone formation. This helps stimulate new bone growth while simultaneously reducing bone resorption, leading to increased bone mineral density and a lower risk of fractures.

Evenity is given as two subcutaneous injections once monthly by a healthcare provider for 12 consecutive months. After completing treatment with Evenity, patients are typically transitioned to another osteoporosis medication to help maintain the bone density gains achieved during therapy.
