• Tyenne (tocilizumab) is a prescription biologic medication developed as a biosimilar to RoActemra. It belongs to a class of medicines known as interleukin-6 (IL-6) receptor antagonists, which work by blocking the IL-6 protein responsible for inflammation in the body. By reducing excessive immune system activity, Tyenne helps relieve symptoms such as pain, swelling, and joint damage while improving physical function in patients with chronic inflammatory diseases.

  Tyenne is approved for the treatment of moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis, giant cell arteritis, polyarticular and systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis, CAR T-cell-induced cytokine release syndrome, and, in certain regions, hospitalized COVID-19 patients receiving corticosteroids who require supplemental oxygen or mechanical ventilation. It is available as intravenous infusion and subcutaneous pre-filled syringe or pre-filled pen formulations, allowing healthcare providers to tailor treatment to individual patient needs. Treatment should be initiated and monitored by experienced healthcare professionals because the medicine may increase the risk of serious infections and requires regular monitoring of blood counts, liver function, and cholesterol levels
