Uptravi (generic name: selexipag) is a selective prostacyclin receptor agonist indicated for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH, WHO Group I) to delay disease progression and reduce the risk of hospitalization. It works by targeting the prostacyclin pathway, leading to relaxation and widening of blood vessels in the lungs, thereby lowering pulmonary blood pressure and improving oxygen supply. Uptravi is typically used as part of a long-term management plan for PAH and may be prescribed alone or in combination with other PAH therapies such as endothelin receptor antagonists or phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors.
